Local Halloween Events 2021

Are you ready to get into the Halloween Spirit? We’ve compiled a list of all the best Halloween events happening in the northwest metro between now and Halloween night. From scary haunted houses to kid-friendly bouncy houses, these events have it all!

 

Andover: Halloween Costume/Trick Contest

Date: Saturday, October 30   Time: 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.          Location: 6111 Hwy 10 N Suite 400, Ramsey, MN 55303

Who says dogs can’t enjoy Halloween too? AQK9’s Halloween Costume/Trick Contest is bound to be a fantastic event! Well-behaved dogs and their owners are invited to strut their stuff and show off their best tricks for a chance to win prizes. A panel of judges will award 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes for best costume and best tricks. Learn more and register your dog HERE.

 

2. Anoka: Spooktacular Carnival

Date: Saturday, October 30   Time: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.      Location: 1523 S 5th Ave, Anoka, MN 55303

One of Anoka’s long-running events is back: the Spooktacular Carnival! The Anoka Women of Today have always succeeded at creating a super fun event, and this year should be no different. The carnival will be held in all four gyms at the Anoka Middle School-Fred Moore Campus with various games, prizes, bouncy houses, crafts, and much more to enjoy. 3. Big Lake: Halloween Weekend

Date: October 22 – 24   Time: 1 p.m.                                          Location: 16884 Park Blvd SE, Big Lake, MN

While Anoka is known for being the Halloween capital of the world, Big Lake doesn’t shy away from the Halloween events either. They have packed one weekend full of various Halloween events guaranteed to entertain and frighten the whole family. Learn to make special Halloween recipes, attend a pub crawl, walk through a haunted house, enjoy family-friendly events, or dance the night away at a Halloween party. 4. Blaine: Kick-or-Treat

Date: October 26 – 31   Time: 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.                    Location: 1700 105th Ave NE, Blaine, MN 55449

Join the National Sport’s Center for their 13th Annual Halloween Kick-or-Treat event October 26 – 31. This indoor soccer tournament is a non-sanctioned tournament and accepts all teams who want to play. All players, regardless of age and skill level, are welcome and encouraged to wear costumes. In addition to the soccer tournament, the NSC will award the best-dressed for the costume contest. Learn more information or register your team HERE.

5. Elk River: Trick or Treat in Downtown

Date: Friday, October 29     Time: 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.              Location: 679 Main Street, Elk River, MN 55330

Join the Downtown Elk River Business Association as they host a night of Halloween fun! Participating businesses will be open for trick-or-treaters from 2 – 7 p.m., a theatre performance and live music will be played in River’s Edge Commons Park from 2 – 6 p.m., and a trunk-or-treating event will complete the evening at Elk River Lutheran Church from 6 – 7 p.m. Learn more about the event HERE.

6. Ham Lake: Halloween Party

Date: Saturday, October 30     Time: 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.      Location: 1460 133rd Lane NE, Ham Lake, MN 55304
 
Jam Hops is hosting a Halloween Party at their Blaine/Ham Lake location on October 30 for anyone who wants to have a spooky Halloween blast! Children in kindergarten or older are welcome. Jam Hops requests all children to wear a costume and bring a water bottle and enough candy to share with 20 children. 7. Maple Grove: 13th Annual Halloween Family Fun Day

Date: Saturday, October 23     Time: 12:45 p.m. to 4:15 p.m.      Location: 8401 Dunkirk Lane N, Maple Grove, MN 55311

Join the Maple Grove Community Organization as they host the 13th Annual Halloween Family Fun Day in Weaver Lake Park. Kids ages 2 – 8 are welcome to come and enjoy candy bags, crafts, a Scream Contest, and a Hallo-weeny Fashion Show. More information about the event and tickets can be found HERE.

 

8. Monticello: We Scare Hunger Drive-Thru Trick or Treat

Date: Sunday, October 31     Time: 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.      Location: 811 E River Street, Monticello, MN 55362

Everyone is welcome to take a drive through Ellison Park on October 31st for trick-or-treating with the Rotary Club of Monticello. Students from the club will be dressed in costumes collecting food shelf items and passing out treat bags to everyone who donates. Find more information HERE.

9. Plymouth: Halloween at the Lake

Date: Friday, October 29     Time: 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.              Location: 15500 County Rd 6, Plymouth, MN 55447

The City of Plymouth is hosting the 2nd Annual Halloween at the Lake event to bring the entire community together for family-friendly fun. The Plymouth Parks and Recreation, Police, and Fire Departments will be there for the kids to meet and view their vehicles as well as get treats. 10. Princeton: Day-Time Trick-or-Treating

Date: Sunday, October 31     Time: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.        Location: Princeton, MN 55371

Anyone who lives in Princeton is familiar with their Daytime Trick-or-Treating event on Halloween day. Participating businesses will have balloons placed outside and will be giving away candy to all the children that stop by between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. This year will honor Ossell’s Fine Apparel. The Ossell Family originally started the event and has since retired. Find more information about the event HERE.

11. Zimmerman: 1st Annual Trunk or Treat

Date: Saturday, October 23     Time: 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.        Location: 26229 Fremont Dr, Zimmerman, MN 55398

Join businesses from Zimmerman and surrounding areas as they hand out candy during the 1st Annual Trunk or Treat event at the former Pro Build Lot. The event is free for everyone. Costumes are highly encouraged. More information about the event can be found HERE.
