The city of St. Michael is home to a growing community of just over 18,000 people. Located about 38 minutes northwest of Minneapolis, St. Michael provides the benefits of a rural town with easy access to Minneapolis and St. Cloud via Interstate 94.

 The City is part of the St. Michael-Albertville Independent School District which consists of one high school, two middle schools, three elementary schools, and one primary school.

 St. Michael is also home to 12 city parks and three regional parks. Pelican Lake Waterfowl Refuge, Beebe Lake County Park, and Crow-Hassan Park Reserve make up the regional parks. Crow-Hassan is a 2,600-acre uninterrupted prairie reserve that offers opportunities for hiking, camping, dog sledding, horseback riding, and much more.
